Although you never know how an insurance company or product really pans out until you have to use it, our agent Janine certainly introduced us to our options for LTCI that I had not heard of before and were pretty new at the time. With Janine's guidance we chose a hybrid product that now is mentioned in many articles on the subject and we feel pretty comfortable with our decision. After experiencing the passing of each of our sets of parents, we decided it was way past time for us to get our financial house in order. My mother had been in a nursing home 7 years before she passed from Alzheimer's. The first time we were introduced to the concept of Long Term Care, was in a Dave Ramsey financial course. Of all of the things we learned in that course, LTC was the most complicated. Our Financial Planner set up a meeting with another LTCi Specialist but we just didn't connect with him and it became more challenging to wrap our heads around the whole concept and the nuances between different plans.

She narrowed it down to a couple of plans, explained them thoroughly and then gave us time to mull them over and do some research on our own. We then went back to her to see if there was a plan that we could have paid off in 10 years so we wouldn't have to continue paying on it in retirement, Janine found the perfect Carrier for us and we are very happy with the LTCi plan we have signed with. Janine Tate was so positive about the long term insurance questions I asked. She was not pushy about me buying. She understood why I was being very careful making a decision. There were several different options to compare and eliminate ones that did not fit my needs. She understood that I wanted to discuss it with my husband. I had to call her in the last few months in the evening to ask about a copy of my plan I chose. I was not able to find it at my home and was concerned it may have never come to me. I started researching LTC insurance just out of curiosity after putting my grandmother in a nursing home. I am 41 and thought it was way too early for me to get coverage, but I just wanted to get some information. After talking to Janine, I realized that buying LTC insurance in my 40's was a wise decision. People who wait often have health issues arise that result in denying them coverage and/or pay a lot higher premium. I also found a plan that allowed me to pay the entire premium over 10 years so that I will no longer have any payments after I am 51! How nice it will be to have peace of mind financially as well as knowing that I will have options for care (Home Health, Assisted Living, or Nursing Home) based on my needs in the future. Janine was very knowledgeable and went over a variety of products and options with me until I found the one best suited for me. She is patient and always cheerful. I recommend anyone considering LTC to talk with Janine and see what might work for you!

Janine your ability to find a product that makes sense for me and my family is huge - I want others to know that this "Critical Care" coverage I bought is absolutely perfect for my families history of cancer. I hope I never have to use it but even if it is not Cancer ... say a Stroke or Alzheimer's I will have the cash to pay for LTC or anything else I choose to someday. And that it will pay up to three times in my life is important to me as well. It's nice to know that other than just traditional LTC you work with all of the products available in the market these days. I loved having the option to choose what makes the most sense for me.
